A Muscatine man faces criminal charges after an investigation into posting nude photos of minors on the social media site, Twitter.com.
Police arrested 19-year-old Briar Todd on five counts of sexual exploitation of a minor on Wednesday, Dec. 3rd.
According to the Muscatine County Attorney’s Office, Todd created a Twitter account to post five separate photos of nude female minors. The way the images were posted would allow anyone following the Twitter account to see the photos. The information on the account also identified each minor by name.
Each charge is a class “D” felony punishable by up to five years in prison. Todd’s next court appearance will be on Dec. 15, 2014.
The Muscatine County Attorney says members of the community can find information about internet safety, including information for parents to help children stay safe while online, by going to the website, NetSmartz411.org.
