BURLINGTON, Iowa – Officials have tentatively identified of the remains of a body that was found behind a Burlington grocery story last month.
Burlington Police say they belong to 49-year-old Alfredo Rodriguez.
Rodriguez’s family reported him missing to Burlington Police on September 16, 2012.
On January 22, 2015, police were notified that a body had been found in a wooded area behind the Hy-Vee store on Agency Street.
The skeletal remains were taken to Ankeny, Iowa, for an autopsy.
Personal items belonging to Rodriguez were also found within the clothing that was found on the body.
At this time, the cause of death is still undetermined.
