Traffic lights back on after power outage at Locust and Kimberly in Davenport-UPDATED

UPDATE: Police say the lights at Kimberly and Locust are functioning normally after this mornings accident.

DAVENPORT, Iowa (KWQC) — A single vehicle accident knocked out power to residents and traffic lights.

The accident happened early Tuesday morning, February 16, 2016, just west of the intersection of East Locust Street and Kimberly Road in Davenport.

Police say a pickup truck was heading west on Locust when it collided with a power pole, causing the power outage.

According to MidAmerican Energy’s website, about 45 customers were without power as a result.

Due to the lights being out at Kimberly and Locust, the morning commuters are asked to avoid the area for the next few hours.

Officials say there were no injuries. the cause of the accident is under investigation.
