QUAD CITIES (KWQC) – Ken Brandt calls it magical. Living the dream. A 1971 Davenport Central graduate, Brandt “drummed up” quite a career.
For fifteen years, his ability landed him in some of the finest music studios in Nashville. Brandt is a gifted drum technician. During that time, he worked with some of the biggest names in music.
In his apartment, Ken has about 150 drumheads signed by some of the most familiar names in country music. Every day Brandt wakes up, and says he sees many of his friends on the walls.
Photos of Reba, Waylon and Willie, Vince Gill and Amy Grant. Garth Brooks and Charlie Daniels. He has also done tech work for the Billy Graham Crusades, the Dove Awards, and Nashville Music Awards.
These days, Ken is living in Clinton where he occasionally tunes and plays the drums. Reminiscing about a career which afforded him some tremendous experiences. Thanks to the beat of the drum!
