Fatal accident in Scott County-UPDATE

UPDATE 3-17-16: The Scott Co. Sheriff’s Office released the names of those involved in the deadly crashat 210th Street and 210 Avenue (Utica Ridge Road). The  driver of a Pontiac was 18-year-old Christopher G. Patricio of Davenport. He was treated and released from a local hospital. A passenger in his car,Cole G. Graham, from Davenport was also treated and released.

The driver of a Mercury, 34-year-old Lucas Johnson of rural Scott County, died at the scene.

SCOTT COUNTY, Iowa (KWQC) – Sheriff’s deputies responded to a serious two-car accident at the intersection on Utica Ridge Road and 210th Street, just after 6 p.m. on Wednesday, March 16, 2016.

Officials say a Mercury Grand Marquis was traveling northbound on Utica Ridge Road when a Pontiac Grand Prix traveling eastbound on 210th Street failed to stop at the stop sign at the intersection. The two vehicles crashed and came to rest in the northeast corner ditch of the intersection, with the Grand Marquis hitting a utility pole.

The driver and passenger of the Grand Prix were taken to the hospital by ambulance in non-life threatening and serious conditions, respectively. The driver of the Grand Marquis was pronounced dead at the scene.

All names are still being withheld pending family notifications. The accident remains under investigation.

SCOTT COUNTY, Iowa (KWQC) – Utica Ridge and 210th Street in Scott County were closed due to a fatal accident in the afternoon and early evening hours of Wednesday, March 16, 2016.

210th Street was closed at Jersey Ridge and Utica Ridge was closed at Forest Grove.

A law enforcement official on the scene told KWQC the crash involved two vehicles. The official says there was one fatality and a couple of injuries.

The picture above was taken by a local resident who was in the area before the roads were closed. The Scott County Sheriff’s Offices and Iowa State Patrol were both on scene.
