EAST DUBUQUE, Ill. (KWQC) – It’s history in the making. Harold Lange carves pieces from the past.

The 86-year-old craftsman is a wizard with wood. His work is a look back at the buildings in his hometown. Downtown miniature buildings. The way they looked about 100 years ago.

Several of Lange’s carvings are on display at the local library. The railroad round house. The first gas station in town. Churches, city hall, a fire station, and log cabin are among the magnificent miniatures.

Lange researches local history. Each piece has a unique story. The detail is exquisite. The touch of the “master mini maker.”
