UPDATE: Davenport Police have made an arrest in Monday’s bank robbery.
Officers arrested 38-year-old Tosha Marie Aurthur of Davenport. She is charged with 2nd degree robbery of the Northwest Bank and Trust. Officers say Aurthur demanded money from a bank employee. The police report says she put her hand under her shirt to insinuate that she had a weapon. She took an undisclosed amount of money and fled.
Officers say after she was read her Miranda rights, she admitted to the robbery.
DAVENPORT, Iowa (KWQC) – Police are investigating a bank robbery that took place Monday morning, August 1, 2016.
The incident happened at the Northwest Bank and Trust, located at 1454 W. Locust, around 9 a.m.
Police say the suspect entered the bank, demanded money from a teller and fled in a vehicle eastbound on W. Locust St. They say no weapon was displayed during the robbery but one was inferred.
There is no word on how much was taken in the robbery, but officials say no one was hurt.
Bank President and CEO Joe Slavens says the bank have the suspect on many cameras.
“We have a very well trained staff . They have continuous training and we have very sophisticated security systems. We are very confident that the individual who committed this robbery either has or will shortly be apprehended.”
