DAVENPORT, Iowa (KWQC) – All kinds of tech enthusiasts, from beginners to experts, will converge at St. Ambrose University on Saturday, September 17th for the second annual QC Cybersecurity Conference, better known as CornCon 2: The Wrath of Corn.

CornCon is co-sponsored by the Quad City Cybersecurity Alliance, IEEE Computer Society and St. Ambrose University. “Whether you are a small business looking to enhance cybersecurity knowledge, a parent wanting to teach their children about privacy on the Internet, or a seasoned security researcher, this conference and Kids Hacker Camp are the places to be on Saturday,” Dr. John Johnson, Chair of the Alliance stated.

“CornCon is a family affair,” said Shadrack Roberts, a single dad, cyber professional, and Chair of the IEEE Computer Society. “The Internet is part of our society; understanding how to help your children engage mindfully when online is paramount. Kids will learn cryptography, coding, and electronics. They learn the ethics of making and breaking through fun events and contests with great prizes.”

Speakers include Todd Fitzgerald, Global Director of Information Security for Grant Thornton International; John Bumgarner, former Marine who specialized in computer forensic techniques and has appeared on NBC, CNN, and the BBC, as a cybersecurity commentator; and Jen Fox, Sr. Security Consultant at VioPoint.

The Wrath of Corn II is an all-day affair from 8 am to 5 pm. Lunch and snacks are included. There are door prizes and adults are invited to a sponsored afterparty at Analog Arcade Bar that evening.
