UPDATE: The Jo Daviess Sheriff’s Office has released the names of others involved in the accident. 19-year-old Katerine Raisbeck of Apple River and 26-year-old Jesse Allendorf of Warren, Ill. The names have been released, but not information about what roles they may have played in the accident. The investigation continues.
UPDATE: Investigators say they have a person of interest after a deadly hit-and-run accident over the weekend.
Sheriff’s officials say 17-year-old Alex Boelk of Apple River, Ill. was killed Saturday night when he was hit by a vehicle that left the scene near Scales Mound, Ill.
JO DAVIESS COUNTY, Ill. (KWQC) – One person is dead after a hit and run accident in Jo Daviess County.
It happened on Saturday night, September 17, 2016, just after 10 p.m. on North Pea Ridge Rd., just south of E. Stagecoach Trail.
According to Jo Daviess County Sheriffs officials, they received a report of a hit and run accident. They arrived to find a parked vehicle with heavy damage to the driver’s side that was caused by another vehicle that was heading northbound. The vehicle sideswiped the parked vehicle and a passenger that was standing outside of the vehicle. After the collision, the vehicle fled from the scene.
The victim was transported from the scene by Galena EMS, but was later pronounced dead from injuries sustained in the accident.
The accident remains under investigation by the Jo Daviess County Sheriff’s Office.
