Second victim in two weeks for Brady Street bridge

Lunchtime snack for the 'Truck-eating Bridge'

DAVENPORT, Iowa (KWQC) — For the second time in less than two weeks an over-height vehicle hit the Brady Street bridge. The accident happened around noon on Tuesday, September 20, 2016.

On Thursday, September 8, 2016, a Ryder panel truck nearly made it under the bridge, but ended up having damage on the roof.

The most recent accident was another story. The full sized semi hit the bridge with its trailer.

The trailer appeared to have a refrigeration unit on the front that hit first and seemed to be heavily damaged by the impact. The vehicle didn’t stop until the trailer had made it half way under the bridge, severely damaging it in the process.

There were no apparent injuries.
