CLINTON, Iowa (KWQC) – The flood gates along the Mississippi River in Clinton, Iowa will be installed on Friday.
The Regional Water Reclamation Facility announced the flood gates will be installed on Friday, September 23, 2016, at 9th Avenue North.
Installation on the flood gates will begin at 9:00 a.m. and will remain until further notice. According to the National Weather Service, the Mississippi River is expected to hit moderate flood stage on Monday. Flood stage is 17 feet. The river is expected to hit 19.1 feet by Tuesday. At that level, water affects homes in the Camanche Swan Slough area, the boat ramp, and 9th Street by Hazel Lake. Water will also affect Union Pacific Railroad maintenance buildings in Clinton.
