HANCOCK CO., Ill. (KWQC) – A father and daughter driving separate vehicles crashed head-on into each other Tuesday, killing the father and badly injuring the daughter.
The accident happened around 5:20 p.m. on Sept. 20, 2016 on North County Road 150 in Hancock County.
Timothy S. Hallesy, 53, of Bowen, Illinois, driving a Toyota Corolla, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Tessa C. Self, 28, of Bowen, driving a Chevy Impala, was flown to a hospital in Springfield, Illinois with multiple trauma injuries.
Illinois State Police confirm the two are father and daughter.
Police described Self’s injuries as “serious” in a press release issued the day of the crash, but Self’s current condition is unknown.
Police say Hallesy was not wearing a seat belt, and that each vehicle failed to yield half the roadway to the other as they met on a hill.
