DEWITT, Iowa (KWQC) – Residents who live along the Wapsi River are currently experiencing high water levels.
These pictures, sent to us by KWQC viewer Marty Spies, show the flooding creeping up to some residents’ front doors. Other buildings and low-lying farm fields appear to be underwater.
This portion of the river is located along Old Highway 61 south of DeWitt. The road has been closed until water levels recede.
Among the buildings affected by the flooding is Wapsi Willy’s. According to their Facebook page, they are closed for the weekend due to the flooding.
