Columbus Junction man in critical condition after falling from vehicle


LOUISA COUNTY, Iowa (KWQC) – On September 28th, 2016 at 1:20 pm the Louisa County Sheriff’s Department received a call of a subject lying in the roadway on Elm Street in Columbus Junction.

Upon Officer’s arrival they found Edgar Hernandez, 24 of Col. Jct., in the roadway. Preliminary investigation showed that Mr. Hernandez was thrown out of the back of pickup as a result of a physical altercation that was ongoing with the driver Manuel Arguello, 19 Col. Jct., whose vehicle was located at a residence in Columbus Junction.

Edgar Hernandez was transported to the University of Iowa Hospital by Air Care. He is currently in Intensive Care.

The investigation is ongoing by the Columbus Junction Police Department, Louisa County Sheriff’s Department and Iowa State Patrol. No Charges have been filed pending the outcome of the investigation. Assistance was also used from Louisa County Ambulance, Columbus Junction Fire – Rescue and Air Care of the University of Iowa.
