ROCK ISLAND, Ill (KWQC)- For most people in the QC, the last twenty-four hours included a warm bed, a hot meal and a stable job. But, for some in the QC, none of that is guaranteed in twenty-four hours.
Two Quad Citians are trying to spread awareness and raise money for QC Homelessness by trying it out for a day.
“I’m scared,” said Andress Rodriguez before he embarked on the journey. He only has his phone and a charger to live stream the interactions on Facebook.
“I’m nervous” Angela McNeal said standing next to Rodriguez.
“We’re going to go figure out how we can do it,” Rodriguez said. “We’re going to make this as real as possible. We’re going to ask because we have to ask someone, like ‘hey can you help us out? We haven’t eaten.'”
The end goal is for their Facebook Page, “Saving the Perfect Stranger,” to become a 501C3 charitable organization. That will cost them around 800 dollars.
Throughout the twenty-four hours they’ve live streamed their journey on their Facebook pages, meeting with homeless people and getting food from generous people.
