CAMANCHE, Iowa (KWQC) — School officials say a threat to the High School was reported to police late Wednesday night, October 5, 2016.
Superintendent Tom Parker tells us they took the threat very serious. He says the principal was aware of the threat Wednesday night and police were notified.
The Camanche Police Department tells us the threat was addressed and they felt the situation was best handled by school officials.
Superintendent Parker tells us the situation was being addressed by school administrators and that it was safe for students to go to school. He says parents were updated on the situation via the Emergency Notification System.
Parker stressed that student safety is the administration and police’s main priority. He says the situation is being addressed by school administrators and the student’s parents.
