DAVENPORT, Iowa (KWQC) — City officials announced procedures for residents to get rid of limbs and branches that had fallen from overnight storms. They say the debris can be bundled and placed for curbside collection on your next regular garbage day.
There is no charge for bundled tree trimmings and branches. Bundles should not be longer than five feet and weigh no more than 50 pounds. Officials say not to use tape, wire or plastic to bundle brush, as these items are not compostable.
Branches more than 6 inches in diameter, limbs longer than 5 feet and stumps can be dropped off at the Davenport Compost Facility.
The Compost Facility is staying open until 6:30 p.m. on Friday, October 7, 2016 for residents who want to get rid of the limbs and branches.
