BETTENDORF, Iowa (KWQC) — Several homes in Bettendorf were hit during last night’s storms. Many residents are now cleaning up tree limbs and debris throughout their yards. Neighbors said it could take up to several days to clean-up the storm damage entirely.

The City of Bettendorf is adjusting their yard waste pick-up rules to help residents recover.

Due to storm damage from last night’s storms, the City of Bettendorf has relaxed the bundling requirements for trees and branches in the areas affected by the storm. The primary areas include homes south of Crow Creek Road to Middle Road, and from Utica Ridge Road to Devils Glen Road. Residents are still required to cut branches into five foot (5’) lengths and stack them neatly at their normal collection location, but no tying of the branches is required for these areas. Yard waste stickers are still required on all yard waste bags. Due to the volume of materials, collection may be delayed.
