MOLINE, Ill. (KWQC) – The American Red Cross continues it’s relief efforts in Haiti and in the U.S.
In the wake of Hurricane Matthew, the organization is looking for more volunteers.
“We’ve got a great, huge volunteer staff that we rely on, but we have had literally a year of major disasters across the country and we have used people multiple times and so we really are in need of new volunteers,” Trish Burnett, regional communications director for the American Red Cross said Monday.
The Quad Cities and West Central Illinois American Red Cross is holding a one-day training on Oct. 19 at their office in Moline. Burnett says at the end of the day, people will be qualified volunteers and will be able to deploy to help with Hurricane Matthew relief efforts.
Anyone is welcomed to attend and can register by calling the American Red Cross at (844) 319-6560.
