Indiana Governor Mike Pence to speak at Scott County GOP Reagan Dinner

BETTENDORF, Iowa (KWQC)- Indiana Governor Mike Pence will be in town Tuesday Night after stopping in Newton Iowa earlier in the day.

The Vice Presidential Nominee spoke on MSNBC on the heels of the second Presidential Debate. Governor Pence said he has urged Donald Trump to open up to the American people.

“”I thought his apology on Friday night was appropriate,” said Gov. Pence. “You know, I said on Saturday that I was offended by his comments and urged him to show his heart to the American people Sunday night and I think he did that.”

He will be speaking at 6 p.m. at the Waterfront Convention Center.

The Reagan dinner is an annual dinner held by the Scott County GOP. This will be the event’s 8th year.

Arkansas Senator Tom Cotton will also speak.

Senator Cotton had some harsh comments for Trump at the Reagan Dinner in Des Moines over the weekend.

“”Our nominee Donald Trump has let us down again.,” said Sen. Cotton. “Now let’s not beat around the bush about this. The words on that tape were demeaning and they were shameful.”

According to the Scott County Republican’s Website, tickets to the Reagan Dinner are sold out.

Scott County Republican Chairwoman, Judy Davidson, said they are “honored” Governor Pence chose to come to Scott County.
