Davenport woman held on charges of arson

DAVENPORT, Iowa (KWQC) – A Davenport woman is being held at Scott County Jail on charges of arson.

Cori Brooks Ellis of 1324 E 10th Street was arrested on September 27, 2016 at approximately 9:58 am.

Ellis reportedly had set fire to a pile of clothes in her living room and a shower curtain in her bathroom with the intent to cause damage. The six-unit apartment building had other occupants inside at the time of the fire.

She is being charged with 2nd degree arson, a class C felony. She is also being charged with public intoxication. Davenport Police Officers report that Ellis was in a public walkway when they arrived and that she smelled strongly of alcohol.
