QUAD CITIES (KWQC) – Soom, it will be getting colder outside, but not everyone has the proper clothing to stay warm. That’s why KWQC-TV6 is once again teaming up with the Salvation Army for “Project Bundle Up.”
The annual warm clothing drive will be held outside our broadcast center at 805 Brady St. on Fri. Oct. 21, 2016.
From 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. you can drive up and drop off much needed winter clothing items for children. Specifically, the Salvation Army is asking for new coats, hats, mittens, gloves and scarves for infants, toddlers and school age children. Monetary donations will also be accepted.
To donate, drivers will need to enter behind the station using the alley off Perry St. and exit onto Brady St. Last year, 11,000 items were collected. This year, the goal is to bring in 15,000 items, due to projections of a colder winter.
The items collected will be distributed to children living in Salvation Army shelters or enrolled in youth programs as well as children in need in Iowa and Illinois schools.
