PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A possible tornado caused widespread damage to coastal town of Manzanita on Friday morning.
Pictures showed heavy damage to buildings, homes and trees. There were no reports of injuries.
Manzanita declared a state of emergency in order to deal with the cleanup and aftermath. A temporary shelter were set up at Calvary Bible Church at 560 Laneda Avenue.
Doug Dick, the Chief Building Inspector for Manzanita said that some buildings have been deemed unsafe. They were continuing inspection throughout the day.
There are unconfirmed reports that at least 80 trees were knocked down.
