DAVENPORT, Iowa (KWQC) – Terry Sullivan pledges his baseball allegiance to the Baltimore Orioles. The retired Davenport school teacher has a hall of fame collection.
His fascination with Oriole baseball begins with the team logo. He says that bird is beautiful.
Sullivan began rooting for Baltimore in 1955. Included in his collection are several autographed photos of Oriole greats. Brooks and Frank Robinson. Cal Ripken. All Hall of Famers.
His all -time favorite player: Steve Barber. The Oriole pitcher sent Terry a postcard and letter in 1961.
Sullivan also beams when talking about authentic uniforms, his unique collection of baseball cards, and Louisville Slugger bat. He has pins, an Oriole lineup card, a salesman’s version of a World Series ring, and much more.
Outside his Davenport home, the Baltimore banner indicates this is Oriole territory. It’s his view from the sunny side of the street.
