DAVENPORT, Iowa (KWQC) – A Quad City church will host a program aimed at helping individuals and families better cope with mental illness. Members of the National Alliance on Mental Illness, or NAMI, will lead a panel discussion on on family support when a loved one experiences a mental illness.
The program, called Family to Family, will be explained on Tues., Oct. 25, at 7 p.m., at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 2136 Brady St., Davenport. Those in attendance will have the opportunity to learn more about the program and ask questions about mental health recovery.
NAMI Family-to-Family is a free, 12-session educational program for family, significant others and friends of people living with mental illness. Research shows the program has significantly improved the coping and problem-solving abilities of the people closest to an individual with a mental health condition.
