ROCK ISLAND, Ill. (KWQC) – Rock Island Mayor Dennis Pauley announced Randy Tweet will stay on as the interim city manager until elections in the spring.
Mr. Tweet is the Director of Public Works and has worked for the City for the past 16 years. Mayor Pauley says, “Randy Tweet is extremely knowledgeable about all aspects of our day to day operations and has demonstrated his commitment to the City. He is extremely professional and a real asset to Rock Island.”
Former City Manager Thomas Thomas resigned in September and Mr. Tweet will serve in the Interim capacity until a nationwide search is conducted and a candidate has been selected. The City Council recently decided to hold off on a search until after the Spring 2017 elections.
“I am honored to be selected to serve as Interim City Manager. I look forward to working for the citizens of Rock Island in this time of transition”, Interim City Manager Tweet said.
When Thomas Thomas stepped down in September he said he was in the process of looking for another job as city manager somewhere else.
