New store ready to open at site of old K-Mart in Davenport

DAVENPORT, Iowa (KWQC) – A new retail business is getting ready to open its doors in Davenport. Theisen’s has moved into the former K-Mart and Hancock Fabric stores on Brady St.

Theisen’s is new to Davenport. It’s a family-owned home, farm and auto store business with an impressive size. The new location includes the store and a warehouse with more than 100,000 square feet.

“I think with everything I’ve heard around town and all the people that we’ve hired, we’ve hired over 100 associates, there’s been a lot of good feedback. A lot of interest,” said store manager Jim Gabel. “I think we’ll see thousands of people that day,” he added.

A ribbon-cutting is set for Wed. Oct. 19, 2016. The Grand Opening festivities are planned for Oct. 20-23.

The Davenport store is Theisen’s 23rd location.
