More find jobs, but Iowa’s jobless rate stays the same

DES MOINES, Iowa (KWQC) – Iowa’s unemployment rate remained unchanged last month, at 4.2 percent.
The Iowa Workeforce Development Office announced Fri., Oct. 21, 2016 that the rate didn’t change, even as the number of people with jobs increased due to an expanded workforce.

The Iowa jobless rate is up from 3.6 percent a year ago, but remained beneath the national rate of 5 percent in September.
In Illinois, the unemployment rate is at 5.5 percent.
