Police: QC shoplifting duo used teens to steal $4,400 in clothing

CEDAR FALLS, Iowa (KWQC) – Four people from the Quad Cities face charges after police say they were caught with thousands of dollars worth of stolen clothing.

Athena Patricia Jean Kennedy, 33, of Bettendorf, Iowa, and Trai Terrell Anderson, 22, of Davenport, Iowa, are charged with second-degree theft and using a juvenile to commit an offense.

Police say Kennedy and two 16-year-olds were spotted stealing clothes from the Von Maur in Cedar Falls on Saturday, October 15.

The three left the store and got into an SUV driven by Anderson.

Police say they pulled over the SUV and found inside it a trove of stolen clothing with price tags still attached valued at $4,402.50.

The 16-year-old male and female involved are also charged with second-degree theft.

Anderson was released from jail but Kennedy is still being held on $20,000 bond as of Friday, October 21, 2016.
