DYERSVILLE, Iowa (KWQC) – Baseball fans and movie buffs will soon be able to tour the home where the 1989 movie, Field of Dreams was filmed.
When you walk inside the home, it’s like you’re stepping into the world of the Academy Award-nominated movie. The first floor has been renovated to look like it was during filming.
Thousands of people from across the country have visited the field each year, but the house has been off-limits.
Now, visitors can check out the kitchen, the living room and baseball artifacts that are scattered around the first floor of the farmhouse.
“We are so thrilled to be able to now open the house for the very first time in the history of the Field of Dreams movie site to the public,” said Denise Stillman of “Go the Distance Baseball. “We did reset the kitchen so it looks very much like it is in the movie. In fact, that Kelvinator stove is in the movie and does work and function as the stove for the home,” she added.
Tours are set to begin on Nov. 1, 2016. Only the first floor will be open to the public because someone actually lives on the second floor.
