COAL VALLEY, Ill. (KWQC) – Traffic signals are going up on Highway 6 in Coal Valley because of a painting project on the I-74/I-280 Bridge.

The Illinois Department of Transportation announced this week that the temporary traffic signals will be in operation on U.S. 6 under the bridge east of Coal Valley beginning on Fri., Oct. 28, 2016. Traffic will be restricted to one lane on while the bridge is painted, one lane at a time. Drivers should be prepared to stop as they approach the work area.

The temporary traffic lights are scheduled to be removed on Sunday, Nov. 6, 2016, but drivers should be aware of workers in the area over the next several weeks, while the contractor paints other sections of the bridge after the traffic signals are removed.
