DAVENPORT, Iowa (KWQC) – Davenport residents may have noticed that some street lines were painted over the summer–and that many of them are already disappearing.
The City of Davenport says that their contract called for durable paint to be used, but that they have noticed many failures of the newly painted lines already. The city has contacted the contractor who performed the initial work, and the contractor is returning to correct the failures under warranty. There will be no new cost to the city.
The bad lines will first need to be entirely removed before the new striping can be reapplied. City officials say the traveling public will see moving lane reductions in the areas where work is being performed. They ask that the public please observe cones and signage placed in these mobile work zones.
The work will start Friday, October 28 and last through Friday, November 4.
