Tips for planning Thanksgiving dinner

Chef Monika Sudakov gives advice for preparing Thanksgiving dinner as well as demonstrates a quick recipe for roasting Brussels sprouts.

 

Roasted Brussels Sprouts Recipe 

Yields: 4-6 servings

 

1 pound Brussels sprouts, stems trimmed and tough outer leaves removed

2-3 tablespoons sesame oil

1 tablespoon maple syrup

1 tablespoon apple juice

1 tsp Kosher salt

1/2 tsp freshly ground pepper

1/2 tsp freshly grated nutmeg

1 tsp smoked paprika

1 tsp garlic powder

 

Place the Brussels sprouts in a Ziploc bag with all the ingredients and seal. Toss well to combine.

 

Preheat the oven to 375 degrees. Transfer the marinated Brussels sprouts to a baking sheet in a single layer. Bake for approx 20-30 mins until the sprouts are just tender when pierced with a paring knife, stirring occasionally to bake evenly. If they are browning too rapidly, cover them with foil to finish cooking.
