DES MOINES, Iowa (KWQC) – The funeral services for the two Des Moines police officers who were shot and killed Wednesday are set for next week.
Early Wednesday morning, Officer Justin Martin of the Urbandale Police Department was shot in his patrol car. About twenty minutes later, Sergeant Anthony Beminio of the Des Moines Police Department was shot in his patrol car by the same man. The shooter was apprehended later the same day.
Funeral Services for Urbandale Police Officer Justin Martin will be held on Tuesday, November 8th, at 11:40 a.m. Visitation will take place on November 7th, 2016 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The funeral and visitation will take place at South Calhoun Middle School, located at 1000 Tonwanda Avenue in Rockwell City, Iowa.
Those wishing to attend Officer Martin’s services are asked to approach the middle school from the east. Members of the public are to go straight to Rosehill Cemetery following the services as the funeral procession will be for law enforcement only.
Funeral services for Des Moines Police Sergeant Anthony Beminio will be held on Monday, November 7, at 11:00 AM at Lutheran Church of Hope, 925 Jordan Creek Parkway, in West Des Moines. Visitation will take place at Lutheran Church of Hope on Sunday, November 6, from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. Internment will follow the services at Glendale Cemetery in Des Moines, Iowa.
Remaining funeral details will be decided at a meeting at 3 pm on Friday.
