BETTENDORF, Iowa (KWQC) – The Bettendorf Community School District has chosen a new superintendent. The School board approved the appointment of Michael Raso as the Bettendorf Community School District superintendent at its meeting on Mon., Nov. 7, 2016.
Raso has been serving as interim superintendent. He was hired in 2008 as the assistant superintendent.
He formally takes over as superintendent in July, 2017 and replaces Dr. Theron Schutte, who left to take a job as superintendent of the Marshalltown Community School District.
Raso has superintendent’s licensure as well as an Ed.S. (Specialist in Education) and Masters in Secondary Education Administration from Drake University. He received a B.A. in Elementary Education with a minor in Middle School/Junior High Education Mathematics as well as additional certifications in secondary mathematics and coaching from the University of Northern Iowa.
