Henry Co. public safety tax fails to pass

CAMBRIDGE, Ill. (KWQC) – A half cent sales tax to fund public safety in Henry County failed to win voter approval Tues. Nov. 8, 2016.

The vote was 12,340 or 52 percent against to 1 1,547 or 48 percent in favor.

The Henry County Sheriff said the funds from the tax increase were necessary in order to avoid making cuts to the budget.
