Campaign signs vandalized in Davenport on election night

img_3864DAVENPORT, Iowa (KWQC) — A couple of campaign signs for Donald Trump were damaged Tuesday evening. The damage was reported to KWQC on Wednesday morning, November 9, 2016.

The sign, located at 46th Street and Welcome Way looks like it was smashed by a vehicle and left lying in pieces in the grass. On one of the sign-1broken pieces of wood that had made up the frame of the sign, someone had written ‘Google “HaTe Crime” – Smile for the camera!” It’s not clear if this was written before or after the sign was brought down.

sign-2The other sign, due to its location, appeared to be vandalized by hand. Located at 29th and Brady Streets, the sign was on a slight hill and there were no tire tracks visible. In this case, the sign was still half-way standing.

There is no word on who did the vandalism to the signs or why. And since the signs will soon be coming down, there’s no word if the vandal will be pursued. We’ve reached out to the Davenport Police and are waiting for a response.
