ROCK ISLAND, Ill (KWQC) – The fourth time turned out to be the charm for the Rock Island County school sales tax. The measure passed with 53% of the vote.
It failed by 119 votes in 2015. This is first time the sales tax appeared on a presidential ballot. The one percent increase to the county sales tax does not apply groceries, prescription drugs and over the counter medication, cars, trucks, boats, RV’s, and farm equipment.
