Rock Island relocates its recycling center


ROCK ISLAND, Ill. (KWQC) – There’s a new place to drop off recyclables in the City of Rock Island. Starting Nov. 22, 2016,  the drop-off center will be located
at 701 2nd St. near the Municipal Services Building. The move from its current location is to make way for construction at the Water Treatment Plant
The drop off center will continue to be open 24 hours a day, including holidays. Residents should continue to wash and sort items. Unacceptable items include: aerosol cans, glass, any liquids, appliances, ashes, building materials, ceramic plates and cups, clothing, electronics, furniture, garbage, paint cans, plastic bags, styrofoam, tires, toys, windows, mirrors, and yard waste.

The city also offers a curbside recycling Rock Island residents.
