Visitation and funeral services announced for former Rocky coach Duncan Reid-UPDATED

UPDATE: Funeral services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday, November 19, 2016, in the Fieldhouse of Rock Island High School. Burial is at Memorial Park Cemetery, Rock Island.

Visitation is scheduled for 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, November 18, 2016 in the Fieldhouse.

Memorials may be made to Grace Fellowship Church, 4227 W. Kimberly Road, Davenport, IA 52806.

QUAD CITIES (KWQC) — The Rock Island community lost a legend Sunday morning. Former Rock Island boy’s basketball coach Duncan Reid past away after a battle with pancreatic cancer. He was 80 years old.

Reid built the Rocky basketball program in 21 years at the helm. He recorded 469 wins and had 17, 20-win seasons. At one point, his teams rattled off nine straight Western Big 6 titles.

Reid is a member of the Quad Cities Sports Hall of Fame and leaves behind a lasting legacy with the Rock Island community.
