MUSCATINE, Iowa (KWQC) — A juvenile has been charged with arson after a fire that happened on Sunday, November 13, 2016.
Fire crews were called to the 2300 block of Sampson Street around 11:40 a.m. to the report of a structure fire. When crews arrived, they found a fire in a pull behind covered utility trailer. The fire was also starting to affect a nearby pole barn.
Officials say the fire was knocked down quickly. There were no injuries reported. The damage to the trailer and the pole barn was estimated at $25,000.
Fire officials say an investigation found the fire to be intentionally set. Muscatine Police Department detectives working with fire investigators were able to identify a suspect. They say a juvenile was charged with arson. The juvenile’s name was not released by officials.
