UPDATE: Scott County’s accident investigator released the names of the six teenagers involved in a rollover crash near Princeton.
Deputy Sean Thompson said Austin Kalar, 16, of Bettendorf, was driving the pick-up Monday night in 25500 block of 260th Ave. when he lost control. Passengers are: Rylan Hughbanks, 16, of Bettendorf; Matthew Packard, 15, of Davenport; Jessica Wells, 15, of Riverdale; Alac Altemeier, 16, of Bettendorf; and Tavin Goerdt, 15, of Bettendorf.
Thompson said one of the teens was in stable but serious condition Wednesday morning, but does not identify which teen that is. The accident is still under investigation.
SCOTT COUNTY, Iowa (KWQC) – A single-vehicle rollover crash involving six juveniles Monday night near Princeton, Iowa caused serious injuries to multiple passengers.
Investigators say a pickup truck traveling along the 25000 block of 260th Avenue in Scott County rolled over at around nine p.m. causing multiple passengers to be ejected.
Of the six minors involved, two were riding in the bed of the pickup.
The Scott County Sheriff’s Department says one of the passengers was airlifted to Genesis Medical Center East while others were taken there by ambulance with injuries ranging from serious to minor.
The stretch of 260th Avenue where the accident occurred is a single-lane dirt road that investigators say “has very minimal maintenance.”
