Two pets die in Rock Island house fire

ROCK ISLAND, Ill. (KWQC) – Two family pets perished in a house fire in Rock Island on Tues. Nov. 15, 2016. According to the city fire marshal, firefighters were called to the a house in the 1,300 block of 102nd Ave. around 1:46 p.m. No one was home at the time of the fire, which was reported by a neighbor.

The the fire was brought under control within about ten minutes, but damage is extensive. Damage to the structure is estimated at $80,000 and the loss of contents is estimated at $30,000. The fire marshal is still investigating the cause.
