LECLAIRE, Iowa (KWQC) — First responders were called to the scene of an accident where a semi rear-ended a vehicle stopped at a traffic light. The accident happened around 9:45 a.m. at the intersection of Route 67 and Eagle Ridge Road.
An eyewitness said the vehicle was heading toward LeClaire but was stopped at the traffic light. The driver of the semi slammed on their breaks just before it hit the vehicle. The vehicle then traveled through the intersection and came to a stop on the shoulder of the highway on the other side of the intersection.
At the time of the accident, crews were working to contain a gas leak on the north west side of 67.
There is no word of any accidents at this time, but an ambulance was called to the scene.
