Police say Muscatine fire intentionally set


MUSCATINE, Iowa (KWQC) – Muscatine police are investigating a residential fire that officials believe was intentionally set. On Sun. Nov. 20, 2016, the emergency dispatch center received a 911 call of fire of a manufactured home in the 4,600 block of Condor St. Crews quickly put the fire out, but damage to the home and contents is estimated at approximately $10,000.

One person home at the time of the fire, but unhurt. The initial investigation found the fire was intentionally set. Muscatine police detectives took one person into custody, but no more information is being released and the fire is still under investigation.

The Muscatine Fire Department was assisted by the Muscatine police Department and the Fruitland Fire Department.
