QUAD CITIES (KWQC) — It’s been a pretty mild autumn in the QCA this year. That is, until the cold front went through last Friday, November 18, 2016. Not only did the change in weather leave us with much colder temperatures, the windy conditions also left many of us with a lot of leaves to clean up.
But, if you’re hoping to take advantage of the free city leaf collection, don’t wait too long.
Davenport residents have until Saturday, November 26, 2016 for the free, no sticker yard waste pick up. Residents just need to bag their leaves and leave them out on garbage night. But do it this week, or else it will cost you $1.60 per bag for pick up. The city is extending the compost facility’s hours and allowing yard wastes to be dropped off for free through Sunday December 11, 2016. The free yard waste drop-off period is available only to Davenport and Bettendorf residents with city curbside solid waste collection service.
In Bettendorf and Rock Island, residents have until Friday, December 2, 2016 for free yard waste pick up. Moline will also continue their leaf vacuuming through Friday, December 2, 2016. East Moline is scheduled to end their leaf pick up on Wednesday, November 30, 2016.
