CHICAGO (KWQC) – The Illinois Supreme Court has decided to hear a case regarding the Rock Island Clean Line. The proposed project would build an electric transmission line from Iowa into Illinois.
According to Clean Line Energy Partners, the line was unanimously approved by the Illinois Commerce Commission in 2014 but was blocked by an appellate court decision in the summer of 2016. The Illinois Supreme Court has decided to review the appellate court’s decision.
The Rock Island Clean Line is proposed to ship wind energy from Iowa to consumers in Illinois. The company has predicted that the Illinois Supreme Court could render a decision by May.
