Chicago airport worker strike shouldn’t affect Quad City International Airport flights

MOLINE, Ill. (KWQC) — Quad City International Airport says they don’t think the potential strike of airport workers in Chicago will cause delays or cancellations to flights to and from Moline.

Cathie Rochau says they are not expecting any delays or cancellations specifically because the workers striking are not airline employees, and have nothing to do with the operation of the airlines or airplanes that fly between Moline and Chicago.

Rochau says from what she understands, the workers are in food service, and other in-airport services contracted out by private firms. She also says the Chicago Dept. of Aviation did not expect any disruption to air service either.
