DAVENPORT, Iowa (KWQC) — Police say a man is in custody after leading law enforcement on a pursuit through two Iowa counties early Monday morning.
They say the pursuit began in Tipton. Law enforcement followed the driver of the pickup truck on I-80 eastbound in Cedar County before continuing into Scott County.
The driver exited the interstate at Walcott, and entered Davenport city limits by heading east on Highway 6, or Kimberly Road.
Davenport police were notified of the pursuit just before 2:30 a.m. They joined the pursuit and followed the suspect through town. Officer deployed stop sticks, which successfully slowed the vehicle down.
Police say the driver managed to continue south until the vehicle spun out on N. Marquette St. south of W. Locust St. Officers took him into custody just before 3 a.m.
Nobody was injured in the pursuit. Police say the driver is now facing charges.
