DAVENPORT, Iowa (KWQC) – TV6 is once again hosting another Toys for Tots drop-off event. Donations will be accepted Thursday, Dec. 1, 2016 from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.
However, there are some do’s and don’t’s for what you should donate. The Marine Corps Reserves are asking for new, unwrapped toys for ages six months all the way up 12-years-old.
They are also pushing for books and puzzles for the older kids. But for those eight-years-old and younger, S Sgt. Carl Pedder says they are hoping the community will donate some games.
He also says the drive is not about how many toys are raised, but the families they help.
“Especially in this area I’ve noticed the community really does come together, year after year to help one another, and I think the reason why is they do it for the children,” said S Sgt. Pedder. “[They] just want to help each other out, make sure the kids are having a good Christmas that they’re able to have.”
For families that want to receive toys, you are still able to register until Dec. 3.
